Mara’s assigned function was to be complete without being available.
The fictional catalogue that assigned Mara did not treat sexual access as mandatory. It required a feminine adult display object with recognizable face, compact silhouette and no active opening. Mara’s asexual orientation was not overwritten by the conversion. Instead it became part of the specification: every potential access point would be sealed into porcelain.
The assignment still removed ordinary agency. Mara did not select the exact form, finish or storage schedule. She entered a story system capable of deciding those details and emerged under a dossier code. The tension lies in being made into an object while the expected sexual function is deliberately absent.
This distinction prevents the archive from equating object status with universal use. A form may be collected, displayed, positioned and stored while remaining closed to approaches. Mara’s study gives the atlas a non-use endpoint against which the explicit records can be read more precisely.

Doll conversion replaced motion with a fired, continuous surface.
The conversion kiln existed only as a white fictional field. Mara’s silhouette became smaller and more centered while surface hardened into warm ivory porcelain. There was no heat injury, process anatomy or break in continuity. The field worked like a page transition: the former body entered, the finished doll form occupied the next frame.
Her eyes closed before the final glaze. Lids, mouth and lower surface became deliberate sculpted boundaries. The form retained a mature recognisable face but offered no moving feature through which awareness could be read. A dark vermilion catalogue line curved around the base and ended beneath D-005.
Dormancy began with completion. Mara did not wait through inspection as an aware but trapped character. The archive records no continuous interior time until display activation. Storage and darkness therefore pass without boredom, anticipation or fear.
Transformation Record / Case
The storage case is the form’s ordinary environment.
A fitted case supports the porcelain along its broad base and back. Warm ivory fabric prevents hard contact; dark bronze clasps close without touching the face. The case includes no window. When shut, D-005 becomes an archived object identified from the outside by code and surface class.
Opening the case under display light activates awareness. Mara experiences the first visible room as immediate continuation, even if months have passed. She cannot ask how long the interval lasted. Silence and sealed eyes keep the answer outside the form.
The display stand receives her at a fixed slight tilt. Visitors observe glaze, silhouette and the contradiction of a recognisable adult face that cannot return their gaze. No cover panel opens and no explicit function follows. At the end of display, the form returns to the case and awareness ends with the last light.
Transformation Record / Present Condition
D-005 makes closure a positive classification.
Closed access is not an incomplete record. It is the defining object condition. Mara demonstrates that the archive’s interest in function includes display, ceremonial placement and storage as functions in their own right. The form is maintained because it is a collection object, not because it is waiting to become a sexual device.
The record also keeps orientation meaningful after transformation. Asexual does not disappear when Mara becomes a form, and the archive does not treat the absence of sexual use as a problem to solve. Her objectification is severe precisely because the catalogue can classify and store her without needing to make her sexually available.
The storage case contains no access mechanism beyond the supports required to lift and display the porcelain object. Its interior is fitted to the compact base, shoulders and face so tightly that every placement repeats the same alignment. When the lid closes, dormancy follows the removal of light rather than a spoken command. Months can disappear without becoming an experience Mara has to endure.
During display, sealed eyes change the relation between object and room. Mara cannot inspect the audience or anticipate a hand through sight. She receives vibration through the plinth, temperature through porcelain and the careful pressure of handling. Those narrow channels are enough to establish awareness while keeping the visual form completely withdrawn. D-005 is present without being available.
