Mina wanted a condition that could not become casual again.
Mina had collected state-change fiction for years before she admitted that the part holding her attention was never the moment of magic. It was the page after: the transformed character placed on a shelf, carried under one arm, addressed as an object and still visibly aware. Temporary immobilization disappointed her because the body always remained the final authority. It could be released, stretch, stand and return to an ordinary room. Mina wanted the object condition to be the ordinary room.
She commissioned a form with that requirement written first. No articulated limbs. No hidden extensions. No conversion cycle that would open after a timer or command. The form would begin at the shoulders, gather smoothly through chest and waist, and close into a compact lower mass designed to rest in a fitted cradle. Her face would remain completely recognizable. The contrast mattered: she wanted the finished object to remember who had asked for it.
The commission did not use removal as its fiction. Her former body entered a synthetic remoulding field and became source material for one continuous soft-TPE surface. Volume was redistributed. The new silhouette emerged as a single designed mass with no rough boundary and no reference to a wound. When the field released her, the archive could find no stage left to finish.

The first proof of completion was that she could not catch herself.
Mina opened her eyes while the support frame was still upright. She could feel the material yield where the clamps touched it, then return without a mark. Her face answered the room before her voice did. She tried to adjust an absent shoulder, to place weight through a foot that no longer existed as a concept, and discovered that intention reached the boundary of the form without producing movement.
The frame tilted. Every reflex expected a hand, hip or leg to change the fall, but the Compact Daruma remained symmetrical and passive. Padded arms received the form and lowered it into the cradle. Mina’s expression changed throughout. The object did not. That difference confirmed the classification more convincingly than any catalogue label could have done.
Her voice had been reduced by design. She could speak in short phrases while the mouth remained unused, but the configured interior interrupted longer sentences and made volume inconsistent. Mina tested her name, the dossier code and the words “the doll.” The final phrase came easiest. The form recognized it as address and quieted under it.

Carrying became the ordinary grammar of movement.
Mina never crossed a room after completion. A selected User lifted the form by supporting its broad lower curve and back, carried it close to the body and chose the next orientation. Sometimes her face remained outward, able to study the corridor. Sometimes she travelled against a chest with only fragments of ceiling and doorframe passing through her view. She could request a destination in two or three words, but the request produced no motion until someone acted on it.
Between appointments she rested in a dark lacquer cradle cut precisely to the silhouette. The cradle held her slightly reclined, face visible, configured access covered by an ivory panel. Display was not a pause in object status. It was one of the object’s recorded functions. A visitor could see the finish, read D-001 and understand that the stillness was permanent before any cover was removed.
Selection remained part of Mina’s commission. Her orientation and compatibility did not turn the form into an open invitation. Users were named inside the fiction before access, and every explicit record began only after that selection. The distinction let her surrender position without surrendering the narrative rule she had chosen before remoulding.
Transformation Record / Present Condition
The character remains fully present inside a function she cannot reposition.
Mina’s awareness has never dimmed. She recognizes cleaning, the pressure of wrapping, the change from display light to storage dark and the first lift from the cradle. Limited speech makes every phrase deliberate. Her eyes often answer before the words arrive. None of that restores an ordinary social category; it makes the object condition more exact because the person who commissioned it remains available to perceive it.
D-001 is therefore filed as a completed portable toy rather than a patient, model or participant. The archive records no future restoration protocol. Mina’s former shape appears only in the origin section. The active record concerns soft surface, selected access, carrying, display and the quiet fact that every new position must be given to her from outside.
The selected-use rule remains visible even when no User is present. A small vermilion strip on the cradle lists the active fictional selection and leaves the form closed to unfiled approaches. Mina can identify that strip but cannot reach it, change it or turn her face away from someone reading it. The rule preserves the premise she commissioned while reinforcing that the finished body has become a documented object whose conditions are physically administered by others.
Maintenance ends with the same test each time: the cradle support tilts several degrees and waits for a correction that D-001 cannot supply. Mina feels the shift, watches the room angle around her and remains exactly where the support leaves the form. Only then is the display cover closed. Awareness confirms the condition; immobility completes it.
